ShareWell has been proudly serving the community through its Zimmer Children’s Museum and youth development program, youTHink, for over 25 years. Through arts, immersive play and real-world practice, we guide children and youth to recognize injustice and possibility within their communities and beyond, and to take meaningful, collaborative and collective action to create a better tomorrow.
In early 2019, the children’s museum will move from the Jewish Federation Building on Museum Row to the top floor of Santa Monica Place. Renamed the Cayton Children’s Museum by ShareWell, in commemoration of a generous gift from Andrea and Barry Cayton (The Goldrich Family Foundation), the museum encourages children, youth, and families to practice being their best selves through immersive play. Our new space has five core wings with exhibits that together offer fun, interactive experiences for young people to learn how to take care of themselves, take care of others, and play their way to a better world. Along with the increased accessibility and visibility afforded by our new location, our We All Play initiative will continue to ensure that every child and family can enjoy the museum.
Continuing to serve our many Los Angeles communities, youTHink by ShareWell engages more than 3,000 Title I public school students, ages 11-19, in creative arts education to find their voice, cultivate a social conscience, develop leadership skills and make a positive impact in their communities.
